I was tasked with designing a space using architectural elements from a music genre. The genre I chose is R&B music. The smooth curves throughout the structure represent the smooth melodic rhythms, and the rigid edges represent the hard beats of the rhythm.

The height variation of elements in the pergola creates an optical illusion of curves.
